Fruits of the Chrysalis – Rich Morey

Rich Morey

Rich Morey grew up immersed in music and performed for years with the Chris Collat Band, yet he has only just begun to release his own music. The death of his mother and the pandemic ended up producing a chrysalis-like transition for Rich, the fruits of which today's listeners will witness. With an artist's hands on his guitar and a poet's tongue to create his lyrics, Rich will deepen and uplift at the same time. Find him in the DC area, playing solo, with Annette Wasilik, with Michael Occhionero, or in other configurations.

Past/present religious/spiritual influences: Baptist, Buddhist, Non-denominational Christian, Earth-centered Spirituality, Non-affiliated

Thank you both for an amazing conversation. It really did feel like listening in on two friends talking.

Rich, I relate so much to some of the things you discussed, particularly wondering about the relevance of making art in these times, your spiritual exploration, and sometimes being musically overscheduled as an introvert but having no regrets about it.

Mark, I loved your questions and perspective. My favorite question was when you asked how Rich and Holly share spirit between them. What you said about the power of experiences that crack you open like an egg really resonated.

Great conversation. Loved listening all the through on my walk yesterday. Some of the tunes reminded me of one of my favorite artists: Bruce Cockburn

Congrats, Rich! Thanks, Mark ❣️

I had a wonderful time talking with you, Mark! Like chatting with an old friend. Thanks for the interview and for giving artists this wonderful platform to share more about what's behind our songs.
