Audio file

Anna was an amazingly assertive 12-year-old, with startling integrity, and it led to her break with the Assembly of God church of her upbringing. By 15 she was going, on her own, to Quaker meeting.
As part of a project to collect stories of Hutu's and Tutsi's and their experience with the slaughter between them, Anna was particularly struck by the story of Cheissa, a woman who experienced more "bad things" than many of us could image -- and then she was greatful for the listening ears to whom she unburdened her heart.
Anna used a Quaker process called a clearness committee to decide to join the work camp in Rwanda, and the entire process was a major spiritual step for her.

Dear Mark, I have just listened to your interview with Anna Sandidge. It is indeed a great and admirbale job that she is doing and it is also great that you are managing to arrange this sort spiritual interviews which also are of global concern while being in Eau Claire. (I always felt like there was something special about Eau Claire and people there.) These broadcasts surely contribute indirectly to more strives for peace in hearts of people who listen to them. So, thank you for doing this and good luck to you! Madina.

Northern Spirit Radio brings the gift of many voices, many perspectives, but all speaking of our common humanity. I've enjoyed listening to programs both over my radio as well as through the web site through the archived interviews. Most recently, I enjoyed the interview with Anna Sandidge in which I learned of her work with the remarkable Friends Peace Teams.

Mark - Thank you so much for this great work that you do. It is so encouraging to hear what people are doing in their faith. Having heard the excerpts from the interview we did together - I didn't even recognize myself! You do work miracles. Your work lifts up the gifts of Spirit in a way that is truly wonderful. Hearing the work of others gives me so much joy and great hope for the world. In peaceful service, anna
